Physical Security at the Northeastern Program Service Center (Limited Distribution) (A-02-06-16080)

Our objectives were to determine (1) whether the Northeastern Program Service Center (NEPSC) was in compliance with applicable physical security requirements and (2) whether the NEPSC can benefit from adapting physical security standards used by other Federal agencies.

We found that the Social Security Administration (SSA) met all Department of Defense standards and most Department of Justice standards at the Addabbo Building, which houses the NEPSC. While following these guidelines has improved security, we recommended some additional steps SSA could take to further improve security at the Addabbo Building.
