Analysis of Undeliverable Social Security Number Cards (Limited Distribution) (A-15-05-15043)

Our objectives were to determine the reasons why Social Security number (SSN) cards were returned to the Agency as undeliverable and evaluate the physical security of these cards at the Social Security Administration (SSA).

To reduce SSA's vulnerability of potential SSN card misuse and theft, we made four recommendations.
