Management Advisory Report:  Defense Contract Audit Agency Report on Mathematica Policy Research, Incorporated’s Termination Settlement Proposal for Contract Number SS00-06-60084 (Limited Distribution)

Our objective was to provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) a summary of the Defense Contract Audit Agency's (DCAA) audit of Mathematica Policy Research, Incorporated’s (MPR) Termination Settlement Proposal for contract number SS00‑06‑60084.

DCAA examined MPR’s termination settlement proposal to determine whether the proposed costs were acceptable as a basis for negotiation.  DCAA found that the proposal was acceptable for negotiation of a fair and reasonable price.  However, DCAA questioned MPR’s stop-work-related costs and legal costs.  Therefore, we made two recommendations to SSA:
